Android – Skin

On a PC an image of the device is shown, this is called a Skin. The Skin on the computer desktop is active ! You view the remote screen in real-time, and control the keyboard, mouse and touch screen. Use the PC mouse to click the buttons on the remote device, or click on the remote screen. You can even use the PC keyboard to enter keystrokes on the remote device, easier than mouse clicking your way through.

If you do not see an image that is exactly as your real device, we do not yet have your device in our Skin database. Instead you will see a default Skin. Let us hear from you, so we can create an exact Skin for your device.

Mobile Host Configuration

While some configuration settings are available right from the user interface of your WiseMo Mobile Host, there are many advanced settings to help you tailor the Mobile Host to your specific needs and requirements.

For complete configuration of a WiseMo Mobile Host, we provide you with our Mobile Host configuration manager, a Windows program so you from the comfort of your PC can configure all settings for the Mobile Host. This includes the most advanced security and connectivity settings as well as defining a name of your choice as a unique ID for the Host device. Configuration settings are stored in an XML file. This configuration file is deployed to the Mobile Host, for example directly from your PC, or via upload to your WiseMo myCloud domain, from where it can be deployed together with the Mobile Host installation files.

The Mobile Host Configuration manager is available as part of the .MSI distribution packages. You can also download it to your Windows PC from here:

Notice: For large scale deployment, various other options are also available, e.g. to suppress request for user input during installation of the Host module, or the creation of an installation file tailored to your need. For Android configurations, it is also possible to use Google’s managed configuration, see more here.

Connect your device to a Windows PC and start the Host Configuration Manager on the PC. The program will detect your device, load the configuration file and permit you to make and store changes.

You can also create a completely new file or copy an existing Host.xml file to the PC, define the settings you want, then place the file back to the device, in the Host folder.

Use the Host Manager for example to define advanced security settings, including protection of the end-point with two-factor authentication.

Multi-layered security

To achieve secure remote control, every aspect of the WiseMo software is designed with your security in mind. We’ve integrated multiple encryption methods to protect and guard your business-critical information. We start with industry-leading 256-bit AES encryption and a 2048 bit dynamic key exchange using the Diffie-Hellman method. Then we add a three-part security model that defines who has access, what they can do and documenting who did what and when. Central management of who may do what on which computers or defined on each end-point. Furthermore, you can protect myCloud user accounts as well as the end-point computers and devices with two-factor authentication, where a constantly changing verification code must be entered to gain access.

Android Host – requirements

Android version 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4.x

In general, the Host module supports ARM and x86 based devices that run Android version 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4.x – a long history of continued support for Android remote control.

During installation and start of the Host, Android may ask permission for the Host to access various resources. The user must provide such permission, if prompted.

The Host may also require that a WiseMo add-on module is downloaded and installed. Such module may be necessary to allow remote screen viewing and remote injection of input. See example in this video.

Features generally available for all types of modern devices include full Remote Desktop Control (desktop view and touch input), File Transfer, Chat, and Inventory.

Full Remote Desktop support (i.e. simulation of keystrokes and touch) on older devices depends on the device manufacturer.

In general, testing is needed, to ensure the product installs and performs to your satisfaction, as device manufacturers, the OS and 3rd party products each may have the ability to impact the behavior of the Android Host module.
