Can I use Android Managed Configuration with the WiseMo Android Host?

Yes. The WiseMo Android Host fully supports Android Managed Configuration (also known as Managed App Config / AppConfig) on devices enrolled in an Android Enterprise–capable MDM/EMM solution. This lets you pre-configure the Host at install time and update settings on the fly.

What you can configure (examples)

  • Pre-join the Host to your myCloud domain
  • Set the authentication method (e.g., myCloud Device Access Control)
  • Configure Host licensing
  • Apply deployment conveniences (e.g., suppress the “All Files Access” prompt, allow the Host to respond to connection requests even when the app isn’t running)
  • Keep settings consistent across device groups and update them centrally

Requirements

  • Devices must be enrolled in Android Enterprise, either as Fully Managed, COPE (Corporate-Owned, Personally Enabled) or Work Profile.
  • The MDM/EMM solution should be linked to Managed Google Play
  • The WiseMo Host app should be deployed from Managed Google Play via your MDM/EMM solution.

Please notice that Android Managed Configuration does not apply to side-loaded APKs or manual user-installs from Google Play or other stores.

With full support for Android Managed Configuration, the WiseMo Android Host works well with all Android Enterprise capable MDM/EMM solutions, e.g. Microsoft Intune, Telelogos Clyde, and most other MDM/EMM solutions.
